Drifting lines

Drawing is where I find the language. It is a start, it doesn’t commit to anything, and it lets a form exist before to know what it is for.

The plate then reproduces it, faithful to the drawing but without being exactly the same. I work with that gap: between the line and the form, between the mark and the empty space, between what the process offers me and what I decide to pursue. The composition plays with the edges of the paper, and what remains empty contributes to the dynamism just as much as what is drawn. It is not about what is missing, but about what the image offers by remaining open.
