Works on paper
The pressure of two surfaces against each other creates volume, and with it space. What stays on the paper is the record of a contact: some parts come through, others don’t.
In the embossings there is no colour and no line. The structure exists only as relief. The works in acrylic and graphite do the opposite: there the line is stated, and the colour decides what stays open and what is closed off. In both cases the interest is the same. Repeat a structure enough times and it stops reading as an obstacle and starts reading as rhythm.
